Anderson Silva Interview & pics

Anderson is one of the new up-comming stars comming from Chute-Boxe Academy. He has been a great NHB career and on August 26th he'll be facing Hayato Sakurai , SHOOTO middleweight champion. We just talk some words with Anderson.

Q. How and when have you started to train Muay Thai?

Anderson: I've started on Muay Thai when I was 18 years old, trianing with a Chute-boxe team former called F bio Naguchi.And then I've started to train especifically for the fights with the Master Rafael Cordeiro.And I still with him until today.

Q. And what about Jiu-jitsu? I've read some comments on the internet saying that you're a brown belt.Is this true?

Anderson: Yes,I'm a brown belt from Nova Uniao Academy. And on the Chute-Boxe Academy,I usually train my ground skills without a gi. The Jiu-jitsu training has been trained on the Chute-Boxe Academy for almost ten years.

Q. Undoubtedly,THE Meca World Vale-Tudo oppenned the Shooto doors for you,allowing your debut in Japan.Then you faced a very tough opponent as Tetsuji Kato.Tell us about this fight?

Anderson: It was a very difficult fight,where the Japanese fighter(Kato)was very well prepared for this fight in all aspects : On the ground work and on the striking. He had a great attitude coming over me like a bull, but thanks God,that was my day and everything got right.

Q. Anderson, On August 26th you ll be facing Hayato Sakurai who propbably is the number 1 fighter on your weight division.What are expecting about this fight?
Anderson: I've been training with my master Rafael Cordeiro and all the Rudimar Fedrigo's team(Chute-boxe).This is my visit card,and if depends what we've been training, the audience can expect a KO.
