Takashi Ito who was MA Japan Kick former ace fighter and WMAF World S. Welterweight champ produced the event "SPARKS". The kick tournament had only six matches. But all matches were aggressive and it was a great success. Producer Ito said on the ring, "I will train young fighters in this event. I want to decide the No.1 Kick Boxer beyond organization in this event. I want them to fight in K-1 Middleweight match."
Main Event Japan vs. USA International Bout/67 kg contract 3 minutes 5R (no-elbow) Japan Welterweight, HAYATO (Japan/Phoenix) vs. WKA World Jr. Welterweight Champion, Melchor Menor (USA) Winner: Melchor Menor Decision 0-2 (47-50, 47-50, 48-48)
Ito's favorite disciple, HAYATO fought against Melchor Menor who had held a match against MASATO in Colosseum 2000, Tokyo Dome, Japan last year May. Menor knocked down in the round 1 but HAYATO fought back. Menor who continued to hit body blow with precision won on points. After the match, Menor spoke very highly of HAYATO, "He is a tough fighter with big heart." Menor seems to fight in Birth of Thailand Memorial World Tournament on December 5.
Semifinal Japan vs. Australia International Bout/67 kg contract 3 minutes 5R (no-elbow) WMTA South Pacific S. Lightweight Champion, Masaaki Kato (Japan/Phoenix) vs. WMC Australia Jr. Welterweight Champion, Soren King (Australia) Winner: Masaaki Kato K.O. 4R 1'56"
Kato who steadily kept on hitting a barrage of heavy left middle and punch knocked him out by hard left middle.
Forth match Freshman Fight/58 kg contract 3 minutes 3R (no-elbow) 8th & 10th All Japan Tae Kwon Do Championship winner, Shoryu Uzuki (Japan/Team Dragon) vs. First Shin-karate Kyoto tournament lightweight class second place, Noriyuki Hiratani (Japan/Kushu Kaikan) Winner: Noriyuki Hiratani (Hiraya?) K.O. 1R 1'32"
Hiratani's counter hook hit Uzuki who rushed and Hiratani knocked down. Uzuki got up but could not make fighting pose, so he was defeated. Winner Hiratani awarded the best fighter prize of freshman fight.
Third match Freshman Fight/70 kg contract 3 minutes 3R (no-elbow) Akamine (Japan/Target) vs. Satoshi Sakurai (Japan/Shonan Fight Club) Draw decision 0-0 (28-28, 28-28, 28-28)
Though their bout was prosaic, the spectators were thrilled by their aggressive blows.
Second match Freshman Fight/60 kg contract 3 minutes 3R (no-elbow) Hiroki Ogata (Japan/Team Dragon) vs. Yoshinori Sudo (Japan/Yagibashi Gym) Winner: Hiroki Ogata Decision 3-0 (30-27, 30-27, 30-28)
Ogata had won in Seido Kaikan Eastern Japan full contact rules middleweight class. It was his kick debut match, but he had the upper hand in quick punch, back blow and accurate low, and showed good stuff.
